One Year Since
In the year since Jan. 6 several Republican politicians have shown the true content of their character.
Genuine patriots like Representatives Cheney and Kinzinger, who both voted for Donald Trump, recognized the gravity of what happened on that day and have done the right thing by putting the interests of their country above the their party . They have supported investigating exactly what happened on that day and holding the perpetrators responsible.
Squishy-soft patriots like Minority Leaders McCarthy and McConnell started out denouncing what happened and supporting a bipartisan investigation and then buckled under the pressure of the former president and have chosen to put his interests above their country.
Then you have phony patriots like Representatives Gosar, Biggs, Gaetz and Jordan, who not only celebrated and lied about the events of Jan. 6, they have actively opposed any investigation.
The most egregious actions were by the former president, who after whipping up the crowd and encouraging them to march on the Capitol, sat watching the atrocity on television and waited hours to tell them to go home. He has continued to lie about the election and the events of that day. His actions have been decidedly unpatriotic.
Our republic form of government is in peril and it is time for all patriotic Republicans to follow the lead of Representatives Cheney and Kinzinger and truly put their country first.
