Strategic Planning Meeting

From South Lake Tahoe to El Dorado Hills, a group of allied community leaders met to review, revise, and update the strategic priorities in our County during a planning workshop at the Placerville Town Hall on Saturday March 7th.

Tamara Johnston facilitated this meeting and the group reaffirmed the five strategic priorities of Fire Risk, Affordable Housing/Homelessness; Broadband for All, Veteran’s Issues, and Economic Development. There was an additional push to include Climate Change as a 6th priority with an issue specific focus to be placed on Census 2020.

In reviewing our past accomplishments, we found that great work had been undertaken in the areas of Fire Insurance and Affordable Housing/Homelessness due to having dedicated leaders in these areas and strong coalitions. Going forward for other priority areas to make progress will require volunteers to take the reins, workgroups or subcommittees, and collaborations with other groups and organizations.
