The county party is the official governing body responsible for endorsements and party structure. Clubs are extensions of the El Dorado County County Democratic Party that organize community-based activities.

We are funded through individual donations and fundraising efforts. Contributions help support outreach, voter engagement, events, and communications. Donations are accepted online through ActBlue, or you can mail checks to P.O. Box 1126, Diamond Springs, CA 95619

Visit our Elections page for information about key dates, endorsed candidates, and voter resources. You can also sign up for our newsletter to receive reminders. To find details about how and where to vote, as well as other general information about local, state, and national elections, visit the El Dorado County Elections Office and the California Secretary of State.

Our monthly meetings are held on the third Monday of the month and are open to the public. Check our Events page for the meeting schedule and other public events.

El Dorado County Democratic Central Committee

The party is governed by a central committee made up of elected and appointed members who represent districts across the county. Members help guide strategy, endorsements, outreach, and community engagement.

Democratic Clubs

We also have local Democratic Clubs (Democratic Women of El Dorado County, South Lake Tahoe Democratic Club, and United Democrats) that organize activities for local neighbors.

State and National Democrats

We are the official county-level organization affiliated with the California Democratic Party and the national Democratic Party. We focus primarily on local engagement while supporting state and federal efforts.

Experience

Our volunteers have many different backgrounds and levels of experience. Whether you are a seasoned advocate or just starting to get involved, there is a place for you here.

Time Commitment

There is no minimum time commitment to volunteer. We encourage people to find a role that works well within their own schedules, and it can adapt according to your availability.

Party Affiliation

While many of our volunteers are registered Democrats, anyone who shares our values and wants to support Democratic candidates and civic participation is welcome to get involved.

How can one person make a difference?

Every single person matters. Every single action counts. Change doesn’t require a grand gesture, it just requires something. Show up to a meeting, make a phone call, write a letter, talk to your neighbors. Get creative! The ways to show up for your community are as varied as the people in it. The most important thing we can all do is take that first step, and then another, and another. This is how real change is made.
