At its core, the El Dorado County Democratic Party is a community of people working together to support democratic values and public participation. Local Democratic clubs provide spaces to connect with neighbors, learn about issues, and engage in civic life. Here, you’ll find an information about the three clubs active in our region, as well as an overview of the Democratic Party as a whole.
Our local Democratic clubs provide spaces for neighbors to gather, discuss public issues, support candidates, and build community around shared values. Each club reflects the interests and energy of its members while contributing to broader civic engagement in our region.
The Democratic Women of El Dorado County brings together women and allies committed to civic engagement, public policy discussion, and community leadership. The club supports Democratic candidates, hosts educational programs, and creates space for members to connect around issues affecting the region. Through advocacy and outreach, the organization works to strengthen local participation and advance democratic values.
The South Lake Tahoe Democratic Club serves residents in the Tahoe Basin who are interested in staying informed and engaged in local, state, and national issues. The club hosts meetings and events, supports Democratic candidates, and provides opportunities for community dialogue and organizing. Members work together to encourage civic participation and strengthen democratic engagement in the region.
The United Democratic Club of El Dorado County brings together community members from across the county to discuss public issues, support Democratic candidates, and promote civic involvement. The club provides a welcoming space for conversation, organizing, and collaboration around shared priorities. Through meetings and outreach efforts, members contribute to local engagement and party activity.
The Democratic Party operates at multiple levels, each with a distinct focus. The national organization (DNC) supports federal elections, sets broad priorities, and coordinates across states. The California Democrats (CADEM) focus on statewide races, party infrastructure, and coordination within each state.
Local groups like ours – El Dorado County Democratic Central Committee (EDC DCC) – focus on community engagement, local elections, and supporting Democratic candidates up and down the ballot. There are also local clubs that operate as hyper-focused extensions of the EDC DCC.
